Proven performance against ultrafine particles

Ultrafine particles are smaller than 0.1 microns. By sheer number, about 90% of all airborne particles are this size. The primary source of ultrafine particles is combustion from motor vehicles, refineries, industrial plants and even cooking. Viruses are also ultrafine particles. The small size of ultrafine particles enables them to be easily inhaled, deposited into the lungs and absorbed into the blood.


They have been linked to heart attacks, strokes, asthma and even cancer. Manufacturers of ordinary air filtration systems claim only that their systems filter particles larger than 0.3 microns. IQAir is different. IQAir’s HyperHEPA filtration is proven and certified to filter up to 99.5% of all particles down to 0.003 microns – the smallest particles that exist. IQAir filtration media in the CleanZone SL removes more than 99% of all particles 0.3 microns or larger and is proven to filter ultrafine particles down to 0.003 microns in diameter, the smallest particles that exist.


Diesel soot, allergens, viruses and all other airborne contaminants are filtered continuously and clean, healthy air is returned to the environment from the top of the CleanZone SL system.

This airflow is six times higher than what typical air filtration systems are capable of delivering at low noise levels.


The high capacity of the CleanZone SL enables it to provide up to four complete air changes per hour in a 185 cubic meter room.


Air is drawn in from the bottom of the CleanZone SL system and is directed upward into the environment to avoid annoying drafts and discomfort.

Studies confirm CleanZone SL effectiveness

A study conducted by the Universityof California, Riverside, College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research demonstrated that the IQAir CleanZone SL stand-alone air filtration system removed 90% of black carbon particles and 94% of ultrafine particles in the air from a classroom in Jurupa Valley, California.

Air Change Optimization Technology

In designing the CleanZone SL air purifier, IQAir engineers carefully studied airflow patterns including the intake, fan, filtration media, and outlet in an effort to minimize turbulence and create the quietest airflow pattern possible.


The result was IQAir’s Air Change Optimization (ACO) Technology, representing the most advanced system ever to deliver quiet and efficient filtration of air with ultra-low noise characteristics.


By applying ACO technology to the CleanZone SL, IQAir engineers were able to produce more clean air (up to 820 cubic meters / hour) with less noise (less than 45 dB(A) than ever before thought possible for a high-performance air purifier.


Advanced Micro-Fiber filtration

The CleanZone SL features Advanced Micro-Fiber (AMF) filtration technology. AMF fibers are 10 times thinner than conventional filter fibers. This allows air to easily pass through the filtration media while the ultrafine threads create an almost impenetrable barrier for pollution particles. AMF filter technology in the CleanZone SL allows the air to pass through the filtration media with less resistance and turbulence, adding to the CleanZone SL’s ultra-low noise performance.
