HyperHEPA techology to fight COVID
When Covid-19 first struck the world, there was little information as to how it was spread. Of course, now we have plenty of scientific data showing Covid-19 spreads a number of ways, including air-borne transmission.
We now know that the Covid-19 virus can be transmitted not just through the moisture droplets but also in aerosol transmission. When we exhale, the virus can linger in the air for a while. The time factor can depend on a couple of things, such as:
- Indoors/outdoors
- Number of individuals gathered and their spacing
- Ventilation
This knowledge has given us the means to slow down and prevent the spread of the virus by using masks, social distancing, and air purifiers for filtering viruses. But having the knowledge and using the knowledge are two different things.
This virus has literally changed the world, how we do business, social events, and even simple family gatherings. We have had to rely on technology more than ever to try and get us back to a “normal” way of life.
The spread of Covid-19 was unlike anything we have seen. The world has become a smaller place, not just with social media but also due to cheaper and more readily available travel. We now move about in airplanes, cruise ships and, in some countries, trains like never before.
The air purification systems on these vessels traditionally have not been able to filter the air to a high standard. Filtering viruses has not been their primary concern until COVID happened. So now, the big companies are looking into improving their ventilation systems to reduce the virus particles in the air through various air purification technologies.
The Importance and Ways of Preventing COVID Indoors
So what can the average individual do to make their environment safer for themselves and their families?
a. Masks
The first and most obvious thing is wearing a mask when in public. Masks are proven to reduce the spread of not just Covid-19 but other viruses as well. Even with the vaccines proving so effective, it is still best to put a mask on, especially in an indoor public area, where there is little to none air purification.
Wearing a mask protects not only you but those around you and those you come in contact with later.
b. Close human contact
Reduce your social contact. We know after a year and a half of “locking yourself in,” people are ready to go crazy. Humans were not meant to be pent up; we are social creatures and need other human contact. And as tempting as it is, we still need to remain vigilant against this highly contagious virus.
c. Maintain clean environment
Have a clean environment, or at least as clean as you can make it. This means making sure that not only surface areas are clean but the air too. Open the windows. Getting fresh air into your home is essential in reducing aerosol particles in the air.
d. Air purification for filtering viruses
The science shows that getting the virus off a surface area is about 10,000 to 1, relatively low. However, the spread of the virus through the air in droplet or aerosol form is much, much greater. This means it has become important to use air purification systems for filtering viruses.
Some companies have already started using our HyperHEPA technology purifiers in their offices, but are you able to do this in your own home? The answer is yes. Using the IQAir HealthPro 250 or the CleanZone series in your home or office will filter out 99.5% of harmful particles suspended in the air.
You might already use an air purification unit with a HEPA setting, but our HyperHEPA technology filters out the tiniest particles, down to .003microns, which is ten times smaller than a virus. And they do it without using any harmful technology.
So now you know you can protect the ones you love even better by simply cleaning the air in your home.
